Njoki Nyambura holds a certificate in Advanced Research Methods from Rutgers University and has completed a specialized training in Psychosocial Care at Amani Counseling Centre & Training Institute. She is a passionate community advocate with a focus on human rights, women and youth empowerment, and environmental activism. Njoki is especially committed to addressing mental health challenges, preventing gender-based violence, strengthening community resilience to climate issues, and promoting inclusive development.

Njoki currently serves as a facilitator with the Sauti Mashinani Research Lab and Anga Center, working on mental health interventions to reduce intimate partner violence among women in informal settlements. The research she participates in focuses on investigating the associations between climate change, mental health, and violence. Njoki’s role involves supporting grassroots initiatives aimed at empowering local communities and fostering sustainable development.

In her position as a Community Mobilizer with SHOFCO Urban Network (SUN), Njoki mobilizes women’s groups, coordinates economic activities, and serves as a key liaison between the community and SUN, strengthening the organization’s presence and impact.

Njoki is also an active volunteer with the Kenya Tuna Uwezo Peace and Reconciliation Program, working on peacebuilding efforts in Nairobi County. Fluent in both English and Swahili, she brings strong skills in public engagement, psychosocial support, and program coordination to her work. Njoki is driven by a vision of safer, more equitable communities for women and girls.
