Lilian is an enthusiastic mental health champion and a dedicated advocate with extensive experience in reproductive, maternal, adolescent and child health, women and youth empowerment, governance as well as gender-based violence prevention. She combines her academic training with hands-on experience in community engagement, resource mobilization, and advocacy for women and youth.

Because of her passion for women and girls, she has collaborated with Akili Dada and AWOCHE Foundation to curate and facilitate various mentorship programs that have been used in and out of schools in Kenya. She has volunteered as a gender-based violence awareness advocate at The Inua Dada Foundation, where she raises awareness and mobilizes youth against gender-based violence through social media and community campaigns. Having worked with Spectrum African Research and Resource Development, Lilian has experience in survey design, project management, and public relations. She has earned certifications in monitoring and evaluation, resource mobilization, and human subjects’ protection.

As a facilitator with the Sauti Mashinani Research Lab and Anga Center, Lilian leads mental health interventions aimed at reducing intimate partner violence in informal settlements. As a community researcher, she explores women’s resilience in response to water scarcity and the broader impacts of climate change on violence in informal settlements.

Lilian holds a Bachelor degree of Arts in International Relations (Peace & Conflict Studies) from the United States International University – Africa. She is fluent in both English and Swahili, Lilian is a passionate and dedicated advocate for equity, human rights, and youth empowerment. Her mission is to contribute to a safer society by addressing critical issues in her community and promoting lasting, positive change.
