Jackline has completed extensive training in human rights, alternative justice systems, and both quantitative and qualitative research methods. She holds certifications in human subject protection, HIPAA research ethics, and conflict of interest (CITI) for public health researchers.
As a member of the Sauti Mashinani Community Lab and Anga Center, Jackline supports mental health interventions, gender-based violence prevention, and community-led research. In her role as a facilitator for an NIH-sponsored study, she led group sessions aimed at reducing intimate partner violence among women in informal settlements.
As a community researcher with Sauti Mashinani, she collected data on the effects of water scarcity and climate-related stress on women’s mental health and exposure to violence in Nairobi’s informal settlements. This research focused on amplifying community voices in conversations around health equity and climate resilience.
In addition to her professional roles, Jackline trains women on land rights through Enhancing Women Land Rights at Grassroots Level (AKKIMA) and has served as a community arbitrator and segment leader. She also worked with Shining Hope for Communities (SHOFCO) as an outreach worker, raising awareness about public health, sanitation, and gender-based violence. Outside of work, she enjoys dancing and engaging in community advocacy.
