Cynthia Oyugi is a dedicated contributor to both academic and community-driven research, with a strong focus on social justice, women’s well-being, and community empowerment. She is an active member of the Sauti Mashinani Community Research Lab and Anga Center, where she supports data collection and leads training efforts with community researchers. Her work focuses on women’s resilience to water scarcity and the intersections of climate change and gender-based violence in Nairobi’s informal settlements.

Cynthia holds several professional and technical certifications, including in Qualtrics, qualitative and quantitative research methods, and CITI conflict of interest training, earned through Shining Hope for Communities and the Kenyan Youth Employment Opportunities Project.

With hands-on experience delivering mental health and gender-based violence interventions, Cynthia contributes meaningfully to global health initiatives led by the Sauti Mashinani Lab and the Anga Center. Fluent in both Swahili and English, she is deeply committed to advancing equity, resilience, and well-being in underserved communities.
