Christine is a dedicated community health advocate with extensive experience in grassroots mobilization, mental health support, and HIV/AIDS services. With a background in prevention of mother-to-child transmission, home-based care, and gender-based violence response, she brings deep knowledge and compassion to her work in Nairobi’s informal settlements.
As a facilitator with the Sauti Mashinani Research Lab and Anga Center, Christine leads mental health interventions for women affected by intimate partner violence. She applies ethical, trauma-informed practices to ensure safe and effective support for participants. In her role as a community researcher with the lab, she explores the connections between climate stress, water scarcity, mental health, and violence in informal settlements.
Previously, Christine served as a mentor and facilitator in the DREAMS Program with Hope Worldwide Kenya, delivering youth-friendly reproductive health education, mobilizing community engagement around family planning and PrEP uptake, and empowering young women with critical life skills.
With additional experience in peer counseling, training, and tailoring, Christine is a versatile leader known for her commitment to improving the lives of women and families. She holds certifications in research ethics, data collection, and trauma-informed care.
